Over the years, Capri has attracted its fair share of superstars. Cesar Augustus had a particular love for the island and, more recently, its guest list has included Naomi Campbell and George Clooney. You’ll start this trip by taking the zigzag road up to the hillside village of Anacapri, which has been travelled by countless celebrities in the past. The houses here are whitewashed, the streets are cobbled, and the views over the Amalfi coast are jaw-dropping. One of the highlights of this place is the Phoenician Steps. This steep flight of stairs leads all the way down to Capri port, and it was once the village’s only connection to the outside world. In the afternoon, you’ll head back down to Capri, where you can join the jet-setters in the bars, cafes and label-laden boutiques. There’s plenty of sightseeing to be done here, too. One of the highlights is the Church of San Michele, which was once part of an ancient monastery.
